Warrior tea: ginger, honey, turmeric, lemon

Oh January. Everyone is sick. Keep your immune system primed and healthy with this tea! Double, triple, or quadruple the recipe as needed.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup water, preferably filtered

  • 2 tablespoons honey

  • 1 lemon, squeezed

  • 1 big thumb size piece of ginger, grated

  • 1-inch piece fresh turmeric or 1 teaspoon powder

EQUIPMENT

  • Medium saucepan

  • Strainer, fine mesh or tea

  • Grater

    INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Heat the water, grated ginger, turmeric, honey in a small saucepan over medium-low heat until hot, and let it low simmer 30 minutes.

  2. Add the lemon and warm 5 minutes.

  3. Drink up!

  4. Cool and store: Let the tea cool to room temperature before storing.

RECIPE NOTES

Storage: Store it in a glass container in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 days.
